I have always loved Christmas. In my early years, I probably loved it mostly because of its āambianceā: decorations, wrapped presents to get excited about, etc. And I also loved it because my Mom & Dad obviously enjoyed loving me that way, by creating that special time for me to enjoy.
And now, things have evolved; I play Mom & Dadās role. I love creating special and wonderful times and memories for the people I love.
Itās not a perfect parallel, I know. But the Walk to Emmaus was like that for me.
I have a lot of memories from my Walk (Iām Paul Busch, Walk 27, Matthew Table, I worship at RiverCross Fellowship). But my most vivid memory is walking into Candlelight, and seeing the smiling face of a woman, who I did not know, who was soooo excited that we pilgrims were being blessed. She, and so many others, serving us in such a loving way, illustrating Godās Grace and love by their actionsā¦ā¦ Passing on what they had received; the love of Jesus.
For me, personally, my Walk weekend was like years of learning about: Jesusā love for me, what He desires for me, and what He asks of me. I pray that you and yours are blessed in this season to remember and experience Jesus.
And I pray that you will consider sponsoring someone to experience Jesusā love on the Walk to Emmaus.
DeColores and may you and yours have a blessed and joyful Christmas!
