Emmaus Board 2023 Year End Message

Greetings and peace in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. I hope and pray that you and your families are doing well, staying healthy, and ready to celebrate Christmas.

As we come to the end of another year, there are several announcements to prepare and support our community going forward:

• The spring weekend dates are March 7-10 for the Men and April 18-21 for the Women. Please consider inviting pilgrims and submitting their applications now! We really need to have signups fully complete more than a month in advance of the weekend for planning purposes. We appreciate your efforts to prevent a last minute rush and/or cancellation.

• Sponsorship Training will be offered again on Wednesday, January 17th at 7PM. This will be a remote training session. To participate, send an email to eld@flywithchrist.org with your name and phone number. You will receive a confirmation and then receive a meeting invitation a few days prior to the session. Sponsorship training is required prior to sponsoring a pilgrim or caterpillar.

• We are still searching for new members for the Emmaus Board. If you are interested, please contact the relevant Board member through the website (http://www.flywithchrist.org/emmaus/board/). Openings include:
>>> Property – This position maintains the property items that are used on the weekends (i.e., storing several bins of materials and replenishing supplies as needed). Team members pick up the materials and return them to the home of the Property board member, so you are not required to transport any items.
>>> Prayer Coordinator – This position prepares the Prayer Butterfly with the names and times of those who sign up on the website prayer list and assures it is delivered to the Retreat Center by Send Off.

• As always, we greatly appreciate your financial support of this ministry. Remember that the checks provided by the sponsors at Send Off only cover expenses to Pecometh for the use of the Retreat Center and meals. All other expenses (i.e., buses, supplies, licensing fees, insurance, etc.) must be covered by your donations at Candlelight, Closing, and by mail. We need approximately $10,000 per year to cover these costs. We no longer receive that amount, so our very minimal reserves are getting smaller each year. We request and appreciate your support. Checks should be made out to “Delmarva Walk to Emmaus” and mailed to our treasurer at:
Cyndi Haley
141 Red Cedar Drive
Elkton, MD 21921

Wishing you and yours a very blessed Christmas season.

Love in Christ,
Barbara Gallion
